Vemma is said to be the world’s most powerful liquid antioxidant. This is a pretty big claim to make and we felt it was necessary to put it to the test. After all, there are quite a number of other products out there that claim to be powerful, but calling yourself the “world’s most powerful” has to be based on some sort of evidence. Naturally, Vemma has covered themselves by adding “quite possibly” to this statement, but we still feel that this has to be based on some scientific truth. So, is this product worth your money and does it achieve what it sets out to do?
About Vemma
Vemma does a lot more than simply sell supplements. They also have a brand partnership opportunity, which allows people to purchase products and sell them to others. The business opportunity is very interesting, but this review will focus mainly on their products. According to the Vemma CEO, the products have been formulated by physicians and they have blended philosophies from both the East and the West. Furthermore, the product is described as having mysterious elements that are all plant-based, including EGCGs and OPCs. The company offers six different supplements, but their most popular one is known as “Vemma”.
Vemma Ingredients and What They Claim to Do
The three main ingredients of Vemma are:
- Aloe Vera
- Mangosteen
- Green tea
Around one ounce in each can is made up of these ingredients. Vemma says that their products achieve a number of specific benefits. They are supposed to support and protect a healthy heart. Furthermore, it is designed to improve the immune system and support it overall. Also, the drinks will give people an abundance of energy, something we could all do with whether it is to simply get through the day or to help us in our exercise regimes. Next, the drink’s antioxidants will fight free radicals in our bodies and stop cellular damage. It also promotes good vision and supports a healthy, normal intestinal tract. Last but not least, it is supposed to provide health eyes, skin, gums, teeth and even hair. If all of these claims are true, then it certainly is the best drink ever.
What We Like
The ingredient list of Vemma is impressive to say the least. It is absolutely packed with vitamins and minerals. However, these ingredients are not unique and can be found in a range of other so called “super vitamin drinks”. However, Vemma is indeed different. It contains 1,000 UIs of vitamin D, for starters. We know that a large proportion of the population actually has vitamin D deficiency, which can lead to a range of health problems. Hence, it seems that just on the face of it, Vemma is good for your health.
We also like that several clinical studies have been conducted into the product and the results of these have been very positive. A first confirmed that all the vitamins and minerals in Vemma can indeed be absorbed by the body. This means that they certainly have benefits. A second study, however, went more in-depth and yielded very interesting results. They found that the drinks reduce CRP levels, improved the functions of our immune cells and improved overall feelings of general well-being.
Furthermore, the drink tastes really good. It is very smooth and tastes like a citrus fruit. When we tried it, we noticed improved energy levels. We drank a can on the morning at work and found we did not need any further cups of coffee during the day. Essentially, it gave us five hours of energy, without the jitters you would expect from similar results in other products. Furthermore, because it contains so many vitamins and minerals, as well as antioxidants, we did indeed feel better physically as well.
Also, the product has been reviewed on the Dr. Oz show and on ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition program. Both of these spoke very highly of the product, which fills us with the confidence that it works and is good for us.
Lastly, we like the fact that there is an opportunity to make money with Vemma. Because the drink is so tasty and clearly beneficial, it is an easy prospect to sell. The potential benefits that are offered by Vemma to their brand partners are also very interesting.
What We Don’t Like
Vemma claims to be the world’s best. However, when we look at it logically, we could actually come up with better things. For instance, it would be better to grow your own organic vegetables and get all the necessary vitamins and minerals in that way. We could choose to juice our own vegetables, including making our own super juices by blending or juicing ingredients like mangosteen and acai berry.
However, the reality is that growing your own organic vegetables and juicing everything takes a lot of time and effort. Furthermore, mangosteen and acai are not readily available and must be purchased from specialized stores, where they are quite expensive. Looking at it from that perspective, it is actually a lot easier to simply pick up a can of Vemma and be ready straight away.
The one other thing we felt could be improved on the Vemma product was that it contains only a single type of vitamin E. The levels of alpha tocopherol in the drink are very high, but there are so many other types of vitamin E, each of which is an antioxidant, that we felt more could have been included for variety.
The Bottom Line
Is it really the world’s most powerful liquid antioxidant? We actually think it is. We could not come up with a better ingredient list, except perhaps adding some more sources of vitamin E. The price is very reasonable and the company also offers opportunities for brand partnership. Added to the fact that scientific studies have proven that the effects of the drink are real, and we think it is time to throw away your cans of Red Bull and choose Vemma instead.
